They will receive donated medical bags for their vehicles on August 21st from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Maple Gove Venues in West Salem, WI.
A family day event is planned and will include live entertainment, food and drink, and games for kids.
A group of La Crosse, Wisconsin citizens have come together to put on this event in conjunction with Back the Badge USA, a non-profit organization that was established to assist first responders and law enforcement personnel.
“We plan to give medical bags/trauma kits (valued at $400.00 each) to police vehicles that do not currently have such medical equipment. This equipment will save lives,” Darrin Parrent, Founder of Back the Badge USA, said.
The paramedic-grade medical bags include compression bandages, a trauma kit, blood stopper bandages that can help treat gunshot and knife wounds, and more. Each bag contains items sponsored by local individuals and businesses.
Darrin Parrent was contacted a few months ago by a Wisconsin physician who asked if they would put together an event to celebrate and honor first responders and law enforcement. Back the Badge is working with a dedicated group of volunteers to put together the all-day concert/event where multiple police departments will receive high-end medical equipment for all of their vehicles.
“The event is free to attend and we look forward to seeing a large community turnout of people who want to gather and enjoy themselves in support of law enforcement. This will be a community and family-oriented gathering where there will be fun for all and our law enforcement will be honored,” Parrent said.
